220 years old wine István cellar and National Wine Museum

We would like to introduce our unique wine cellar - dating from 1789 - and the first National Wine Museum in Hungary. The wine cellarsystem lies 14 m below the hotel. It consists of 4 different wings and about 250 meter long.

Here our guests can join a guided tour, and listen to the history of the cellar. They can taste special wines and enjoy the virtuoso gypsy music and folklore program...

Our program starts with a guided tour in the cellar and the Museum - aperitif can be requested.

Nemzeti bormúzeum EgerIn the four different wings of the cellar, you will be introduced to the 22 Hungarian wine regions, the ancient means of wine production, the Wine Sanctuary and the evidence that the cellar is really more than 220 years old.
The cellar is part of the more than 140 km long wine cellar system that extends under the whole town of Eger.
